Dr. Dai received her B.S.in applied physics at the University of Science and Technology of China. She came to Rice in 2006 on a graduate fellowship to pursue a Ph.D. in physics. She also worked as a research assistant in experimental condensed matter physics and as a teaching assistant in several nanophysics classes. After completing her Ph.D., she was seeking ways to prepare herself for an industry position, and decided to further her education by enrolling in Rice’s Subsurface Geoscience program. During her studies she will focus on aspects of both geophysics and geology, and on expanding her knowledge in business and management to be better prepared for opportunities in the energy industry. Yanhua interned with InDepth Geophysical and accepted full-time employment with them.
