Application Requirements

Rice seeks highly qualified students for its graduate programs. Beyond objective standards of academic competence, we also look for other, more subjective qualities such as creativity, ambition, and leadership potential.

Required Materials

1). Completed online application Note: No application fee is required
2). Three letters of recommendation
3). Unofficial transcripts from all universities attended (uploaded to application)*
4). Statement of Purpose
5). Resume
6). GRE Scores are recommended but NOT required
7). English Proficiency Scores (for international students). Exemptions to this requirement are listed below.

Exemptions to English Proficiency Scores:

English Proficiency Scores are not required under the following conditions:

1). If you completed your education in the United States and earned a degree, score submission is not mandatory.
2). If you attended a university where English was the primary language of instruction, please provide an official university document verifying the instructional mode. Please upload this document to your application.
