Ms. Lu graduated from Ocean University of China with a bachelor's degree of engineering in Earth information science and technology in 2011. During her studies there, she participated in the National Undergraduate Innovative Pilot Program in the area of visual reality and published a paper with her teammates in 2010. Following her undergraduate studies, she spent a year working as a teaching assistant in an international secondary school. Song decided to join Rice’s SG program track to acquire knowledge in seismic data processing and interpretation as well as communication skills to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. Song accepted an internship with Halliburton/Landmark and transitioned into full-time employment.
