Mrs. Shannon Castro graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with her bachelor’s degree in Geophysics and minors in Mathematics and GIST. During her undergraduate years, she did research with Dr. Andreas Kronenberg on the Calibration of O-H bands using the infrared spectra of synthetic and milky quartz crystals. She also gained experience presenting her work at two symposiums and learned to use FTIR. She enrolled in Rice University’s Professional Science Masters Program, studying Subsurface Geoscience. With this program, there is an emphasis on both academic and business competency. Shannon completed an internship with WoodMacKenzie and accepted full-time employment with the company after graduation.
