Mr. Murphy received his B.S. in Geology and Environmental Geosciences from Lafayette College in Easton, PA in 2011. A field mapping-based project in Wyoming in 2009 spurred Sean's interests in structural geology and geophysical methods. Field techniques utilized in Wyoming were also applied in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York during completion of his senior thesis. In addition to research projects at Lafayette College, he aided in research of the outer solar system as an intern at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston during the summer of 2010. Sean is looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that will be presented at Rice University. Sean interned with Southwestern Energy and accepted full-time employment with them after graduation.
