Ms. Koyuncu graduated in 2011 from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey, with a Bachelor's degree in Geophysics. During her undergrad studies, she interned in a local engineering geophysics firm and Turkish Petroleum Co. Upon graduation she got an offer from Schlumberger and spent the next three years on offshore drilling rigs in the North Sea as an M/LWD Engineer. With various oilfield stories and some operations experience, she planned to gradually shift from data acquisition to interpretation. This prompted her to decide to pursue a full-time Master's degree at Rice University. Nur aims to focus on seismic reflection interpretation and expand her knowledge on other prospection methods. Nur discovered her love for research and is now enrolled in Rice's PhD program.
