Mr. Kevin Ong graduated from Texas A&M University- College Station with a B.S in Petroleum Engineering. During his freshman year of university, Kevin took part in a study-abroad research program at the Malaysian university Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) researching flow assurance challenges due to wax and asphaltenes. Kevin then completed three full-time summer internships with Halliburton Consulting and Project Management group, where he applied Geomechanics to drilling problems, learned about well-control equipment and used specialized software to put out oil well fires, and tested risk management software for estimating cost and planning of an integrated drilling project. Originally from Indonesia, Kevin is currently in the combined Professional Science Master (PSM) and MBA program at Rice University. He is completing a degree in Subsurface Geoscience with a focus on Energy Data Management. His goal is to understand how digitization and data science can bring a step change in performance improvement in the Oil and Gas industry.
