Mr. Lockhart graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Geology from Texas A&M University in 2011. During his studies, Hunter participated in a doctoral research project involving the terminal falling velocities of several heavy minerals in order to understand how they are deposited in relation to one another in the field. He was also a staff writer for the school’s daily publication, The Battalion. During the summer of 2009, Hunter worked for Xplore Oil & Gas where he served as an intern and gained experience interpreting and correlating well logs, formation map contouring, as well as structural and stratigraphic mapping. He received the award of Eagle Scout in 2007. Hunter interned with BHPBilliton and accepted full-time employment after graduation.
