Ms. Maya Fernandez Monteith graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2020 with a B.S. in physics and a minor in astronomy. During her time there, she assisted Dr. Nikolic in plasma research, and was published in the Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. One of her favorite roles on campus was having the opportunity to lead star-gazing nights, where she could connect with the community and share knowledge about celestial objects. She is currently pursuing her M.S. in Space Studies with a focus on engineering at Rice University, where she hopes to use her background in physics to support future space exploration.
