Naghmeh Hosseini, completed a master’s degree in Applied Chemistry from IA University, Tehran, Iran in 2002. Her MS thesis work resulted in a process optimalization demineralization of water system to achieve higher efficiency and longer maintenance intervals for Shazand (Arak), 1300 MW, thermal power plant.
She has 12 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment, disinfection and chemical dosing systems. During her career, she had a major role, as a process engineer, in various projects such as Tehran city No 6-water treatment plant (the biggest facility in the middle east) and Ahwaz water supply and sanitation project ($470MM).
In 2006, after a comprehensive training in environmental cases, she was granted the prestigious honor of official expert of justice in environmental protection for the Tehran district. She prepared several investigation reports in various areas such as medical waste disposal and metal plating wastewater treatment.
She attends in the Professional Science Master’s program in Environmental Analysis at Rice University to broaden her knowledge and advance her career. Her future career goal is to work in the areas related to environmental remediation, sustainability and energy management.
