Mr. Solano received a Bachelor's in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida in 2010. As an undergraduate, he conducted research in nano-particle synthesis while at UCF, as well as micro-electronics research at Yale University in the summer of 2009. Mr. Solano has experience in marketing events and plans to use his professional and academic background as a consultant for alternative energy or technology companies--a path greatly complemented with the Rice dual-degree program (Environmental Analysis and Decision Making + MBA). Carlos completed a business related internship with Shell Oil Co. , working on his MBA courses and undertaking a second internship with Waste Management. Carlos also worked for the U.S. Army and the City of Houston on environmental projects. He graduated with the dual MBA/M.S. with a focus on product lifecycle analysis and resource efficiency. He started his own company focusing on green building and resource efficiency in California.
