Sydney Sheffield

Ms. Sydney Sheffield graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 and received a B.S.A. in Nutritional Science and certificate in Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship. During her undergraduate studies, she assisted in research considering the affects of nutritional intervention on obesity in title one elementary students. Her participation in this study helped her develop an interest in not only research but also health policy, specifically relating to food and nutrition. Starting in August 2018, Ms. Sheffield completed her professional master’s degree in Bioscience and Health Policy at Rice University in order to further her education on disease prevention and health policy. She conducted an internship with USDA/ARS Children Nutrition Center in Houston, and was hired after graduation.
