Rong Shi graduated from Lawrence University in 2022 with a B.A. in biology and a minor in cognitive science. While at LU, she worked with Dr. Alyssa to conduct literature review of the R application in biotechnology and concluded the biological data analysis and graphic methods. And Rong designed experiments to detect sickle anemia and treat specific gene segments, deleted the BCL11A enhancer to silence gene expression to inhibit the expression of gamma-globin and fetal hemoglobin in erythrocytes by using the CRISPR-Cas9 technology. During the 2021 summer, Rong joined Dr.Haiqing Fang's research-based program. She conducted literature review of cell biology analyzing the relationship between cell biology and medicine. After graduating from LU and before pursuing her master's degree at Rice University, Rong worked as a PTA at IQVIA. She mainly assisted in collecting and sorting information/data of different medical consulting projects, writing interview outlines, sorting out expert interview records, and refining information. Rong has chosen to enroll in the Professional Science Master's program in Bioscience and Health Policy to obtain a career in the health industry.
