Ms. Javaid graduated with a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology in 2007 from the University of Houston. Soon after she pursued her interest in research by joining the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine, where she gained valuable experience working with cutting-edge sequencing technologies. It was here she developed a strong interest in the implications of these innovative technologies. Her focus at Rice is to pair her research expertise with management and policy-making fundamentals to further prepare her to create impactful ideas and policies in the realm of bioscience research and public health. Mehwish completed her internship with M.D. Anderson's Office of Health Policy, and is now working at M.D. Anderson Health Policy department.
