Ms. Maya Bokunewicz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Certificate in French Studies from Rice University in May 2024. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she cultivated a diverse skill set in research, including significant experience in psychological and biological science laboratories. Her academic journey was complemented by a cultural immersion program in Toulouse, France, facilitated by Rice University, where she spent six weeks living with a host family to deepen her cultural and linguistic proficiency.
Additionally, Ms. Bokunewicz is a Division I student-athlete on the Women’s Basketball team at Rice University. She has demonstrated leadership as a member of the executive board of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for three years and co-founded the Rice Athletes for Wellness affinity group, further refining her leadership and organizational skills.
Ms. Bokunewicz plans to pursue a Professional Science Master’s in Bioscience and Health Policy while utilizing her fifth year of athletic eligibility. Her long-term professional aspiration is to attend dental school and eventually co-establish a dental practice. She aims to build a robust foundation in bioscience and public policy, which she believes will enhance both the quality of care she provides to future patients and the operational efficacy of her future dental practice.
