Ms. Ogwumike is an undergraduate senior at Rice University majoring in Health Sciences, Policy Studies, and a certification in Spanish. As a student at Rice University, she has interned with Baylor College of Medicine’s Children’s Nutritional Research Center where she analyzed Houston-Area nutrition data to develop new education programs and tested these programs that were designed in order to effectively help children learn healthy behaviors. She also had an externship at La Universidad de Navarra, in Pamplona, Spain, where she studied under Spanish physicians about proper patient-doctor care for Spanish-speaking patients. Ms. Ogwumike then enrolled in the Bioscience and Health Policy graduate program, where she pairs her background in health promotion and education in minority populations with principles acquired by the program to focus on biological mechanisms and health policy. Ms. Ogwumike is also a student athlete at Rice University, for she is a member of the Women’s Basketball team.
