Ms. Akshaya Venkatesh is a senior undergraduate student at Rice University, majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Akshaya works as an undergraduate researcher in the Department of Biosciences' Uribe Lab, studying the development of the Enteric Nervous System. She also serves as one of the Student Directors of the Peer Academic Advising Program. After participating in a spring break experiential learning trip offered by Rice Center for Civic Leadership, she became interested in health policy, furthering her motivation to pursue the Masters in Biosciences and Health Policy. In the future, Akshaya intends to attend medical school and become a physician-scientist.
