Tamara Kaufman joins Rice University’s Energy Geoscience program with a strong background in Petroleum Engineering and extensive experience in energy business consulting. She has contributed to major industrial projects by leading regulatory compliance efforts, providing boots-on-the-ground field support at refineries and chemical plants, preparing Title V air permit applications, and conducting technical assessments for large-scale chemical and energy facilities. Her engineering expertise spans air quality modeling, environmental risk mitigation, and advanced data analysis using Python, MATLAB, and the PI System. At Louisiana State University, Tamara earned merit-based scholarships and completed a senior design project on CO₂ capture and storage and economic analysis, sparking her long-term interest in carbon management within the energy industry. Multilingual and technically versatile, she brings proven skills in project leadership and engineering analysis. At Rice, she aims to advance expertise in subsurface energy systems and carbon capture and storage (CCS) to drive innovation in sustainable oil and gas development.
