Mr. Jordan Jafar holds a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of the
West Indies, focusing on geology and geophysics. During his final undergraduate year, Mr. Jafar
interned as a subsurface geoscientist at Heritage Petroleum Company. There, he characterized
reservoirs in the Northern Basin of Trinidad for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) using
seismic datasets, well logs, and production data, simulating the results for storage effectiveness
and well placement, ensuring maximum reservoir storage capacity.
After graduation, Mr. Jafar relocated to the United States to further his education and career
opportunities, aspiring to work in the Texas oil and gas industry. Attracted by Rice University's
renowned Energy Geoscience program, Mr. Jafar aims to deepen his expertise in geology for
efficient hydrocarbon exploration through course specializations in seismic studies, stratigraphy,
and hydrocarbon analysis. In his free time, Mr. Jafar enhances his programming skills and runs a
personal outreach initiative called Infinity Geosciences, which encourages Texas high school
students to explore careers in the Earth Sciences.
