Mr. Basaran graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in geophysical engineering from Kocaeli University (KOU),Turkey in 2010. During that time he was chosen as an Erasmus student and studied in Germany and Slovakia. As part of these studies he was enrolled in a marine exploration course (Cruise) spending 8 days on the Baltic Sea for marine geophysics exploration. He also gained experience as a lab assistant with Professor Serif Baris at KOU. He continued his education, pursuing a master’s degree under Professor Baris focusing on signal/noise ratio of seismic station, and received a full scholarship from the Turkish Petroleum Corporation to continue his education in the U.S. In 2011 he enrolled in Rices' ESL program and applied to the PSM Program in Subsurface Geoscience, the perfect choice to prepare him for a career in seismic data processing and interpretation. He accepted an internship with ION Geophysical, then pursued an academic internship with Rice's Earth Science department concluding his practical training with a summer internship at Halliburton.
