Mr. Nathan Tat has enrolled in Rice’s 4+1 program option rounding out his Rice undergrad degree with a Master of Science in Space Studies at Rice. In May 2018 he will have earned his Bachelor’s in Economics with a minor in Business. Nathan has always been interested in science and seeks to integrate his business education within STEM. He has engaged in a diverse array of work experiences. Previously, he participated in UTMB’s High School Summer Research Program, where he collaborated with scientists researching immunological treatments to enhance wound healing for burn patients at Shriners Hospital. During his sophomore year at Rice, he interpreted medical consultations in Spanish between physicians and patients at Ben Taub Hospital. Mr. Tat also explored the aerospace industry at NASA’s Johnson Space Center and gained exposure to the International Space Station program as a Mission and Program Integration Intern. In summer 2017, Nathan worked at Invesco Ltd. and focused on developing strategic projects for the firm’s Technology division. In his leisure time, Nathan mentors in Rice’s Step Ahead Technology Program. Currently, he enthusiastically serves as a Peer Academic Advisor to help fellow students attain academic success. Nathan plans to graduate with his Master’s degree in May 2019. Equipped with his foundation in economics and business and as a scholar of the Space Studies program, he completed an internship with NASA and is now a full-time employee.
