Miss. Meera Kothari graduated from St. Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad, India, in 2023 with a
Bachelor of Science in Physics and a minor in Electronics. During her time at St. Xavier’s, she
served as Assistant of the Astronomy Club of St. Xavier college. Meera's passion for space
studies led her to engage in various astronomy-related projects and activities. She participated in
the NASA Asteroid Research Campaign, where she analysed space object data to determine
asteroid presence using astrometric software. Additionally, she developed a device for
interpreting bioelectrochemical signals from plants, exploring the untapped potential for humanplant
communication. Meera also volunteered with Manthan Educational Program Society,
where she led a team to enhance astronomy outreach. Her work included organizing night sky
observation sessions and facilitating guest speaker lectures and workshops. As a Program
Coordinator at Tanmaye's Amazing Space, she delivered presentations on significant
astronomical missions like Mariner 2, and organized educational webinars, impacting the
knowledge of students pursuing physics majors. Now, Meera is taking her academic journey to
the next level by enrolling in the Professional Science Master's program in Space Studies at Rice
University. Her ultimate goal is to apply her knowledge and experience in the growing field of
space exploration and research.
