Ms. Katelyn Maxwell is a project engineer currently supporting the Multi-layer Acoustic &
Conductive grid Sensor (MACS) project, an orbital debris technology demonstration within the
Project Management and Systems Engineering Branch at Johnson Space Center. She graduated
with her B.S in Mechanical Engineering and B.S. in Mathematics from Lamar University in
2021. After graduating, she began her career at NASA’s Johnson Space Center as a project
engineer, where she has since contributed to the Simplified Aid for EVA Rescue (SAFER),
Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (xEMU), and Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration
Rover (VIPER) projects. Katelyn is now pursuing a Professional Master’s of Science in Space
Studies at Rice University, aiming to further develop her skills and knowledge in space
engineering and science, with a goal of making impactful contributions to the future of space
exploration.
