Rachel Dziuba graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a B.S. in Environmental
Science & Sustainability and Biomathematics in 2024. During her undergraduate studies, she
interned with the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Loan Program, where she
gained valuable insight and experience researching and modeling the growing connection
between climate change and farm loan risk. She also developed research and presentations in
topics that include predator-prey ecological relationships and water pollution in San Antonio,
Texas using programming languages such as R, MATLAB, and Python. Rachel was also active
in her community through volunteering at the local Food Bank, serving on the University’s
sustainability committee, and assisting with community events as a captain of the women’s
soccer team. Rachel is currently enrolled in Rice University’s Professional Science Master’s
program in Environmental Analysis. She hopes to build upon her data literacy and knowledge of
environmental remediation and restoration to foster a future of environmental consulting with a
focus in pollution remediation and climate change that is based in equitable, data-based decision
making for the betterment of society.
