Mr. Chilakapati joined the program as a 5th year Rice undergrad student and started taking courses during his senior year. He undertook an internship with the political campaign of Karim Farishta for Congress in 2018. His work was highly commended as he was able to identify gaps in policy framing and presented a proposal to conduct legislative research with a focus on healthcare. Over the course of his internship, he developed concise ways to share his policy recommendations and made complex policy easily digestible to a larger audience. Sai accepted admission to UT Southwestern Medical School where he is pursuing his dream to become a doctor.
