Dr. Richa Tiwari is an experienced veterinarian with extensive knowledge in veterinary anatomy,
physiology, and pathology. She specializes in veterinary public health and epidemiology. In
2018, she obtained her MS from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences
University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, India. Her thesis focused on understanding zoonotic
diseases and their connection to medicine by studying the prevalence and molecular
characterization of the bacteria Listeria, particularly Listeria monocytogenes in retail and
mastitic milk in Northern India's Punjab state. She holds a bachelor's degree in Veterinary
Medicine (DVM) from Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur, India. Dr.
Tiwari briefly worked as a Research Fellow in veterinary pathology and veterinary medicine at
GADVASU, India. Later, she joined Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational
Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) as a consultant,
contributing to the development of educational materials such as curricula, policies, student
workbooks, instructor handbooks, and e-learning resources for schools. Richa is passionate about
educating and discussing infectious diseases, zoonotic illnesses, and public health issues. With
her excellent communication and organizational abilities, she aspires to motivate others to make
contributions to the growth and welfare of society. Beyond her academic pursuits, Richa is
dedicated to educating the next generation of learners and enjoys interacting with individuals
from diverse cultures and backgrounds. In her free time, she loves cooking and spending time
with family and friends. At Rice University through PSM program in Bioscience and Health
policy, Dr. Tiwari aims to make a meaningful impact on the healthcare system by addressing
critical issues like healthcare policy, outbreak response, and climate change.
