Ms. Katelyn Gamble graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2024 with a B.S. in
Neuroscience and a minor in Studio Arts. During her time at Washington and Lee, she interned
with the National Institutes of Health Genome Research Division, where she conducted research
on the use of text-mining to understand therapeutic alliance in genetic counseling under the
guidance of Dr. Lori Erby. Additionally, Ms. Gamble was an athlete on Washington and Lee
University’s track and field team, earning All-Academic honors and being a 2x NCAA All-
American. She plans to use her final year of eligibility at Rice University as a member of their
track and field team. Ms. Gamble is now enrolled in the Bioscience and Health Policy program,
where she aims to enhance her skills and broaden her understanding of the intersection between
science and public policy. In the future, she hopes to use her strong foundation to pursue a career
as a physician.
