Ms. Jenna Karp graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in 2025 with a B.S. in Biology-Biomedical Sciences and Forensic Science-Molecular Biology. While at UCO, she worked alongside Dr. Fenwick to collect tail samples and extract DNA samples from each individual, in order to perform PCR and genotype 16 specific microsatellite loci. Jenna also served as the Team Captain of the UCO Women’s Volleyball Team for two years, leading a program dedicated to competing against collegiate volleyball teams nationwide. Under her leadership, the volleyball team made history for UCO by breaking multiple school records, including single-season wins, conference tournament champions, regional champions, and an Elite Eight national tournament appearance. She was active in the Forensic Science Honors Society (Delta Delta Epsilon) as well as the Biology Honors Society (TriBeta), furthering her education in DNA analysis. Jenna will continue her education in Rice University’s Professional Science Master’s program in Bioscience and Health Policy, with the goal of pursuing a career in the forensic science industry.
