Carmen Neira graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Nutrition. Previously, she worked at Baylor College of Medicine in collaboration with the USDA/ARS, working in research centered on Arabidopsis thaliana, examining how alterations in plant genetics influence nutrient bioavailability. Carmen is excited to expand my knowledge and skill set to make meaningful contributions in improving public health outcomes through policy and research. In her free time, she enjoys studying languages. Carmen currently speak three languages, and she loves traveling to experience diverse cultures and perspectives.
