Mr. Ziane graduated from IFP School in Paris with a Master of Sciences in Petroleum Geophysics in 2010. He also holds a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences Engineering with a major in Geophysics and Geotechnics, from Polytech’Paris-UPMC (Paris VI University). Mohamed is currently employed at CGG in Houston as a Senior Geophysicist. Following graduation from IFP in Paris, he was employed in France and then assigned on an expatriation assignment in Villahermosa, Mexico where he worked for a year at CGG’s offices. During his tenure at CGG Mexico, he could start applying his knowledge in geophysics data acquisition and processing on projects located in the Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico. In September 2011, he was permanently assigned to the Houston-based office in order to focus on projects on the US side of the Gulf of Mexico. From 2012 to 2015, he could work on several geophysics exploration projects: from time-focused data pre-processing to depth imaging velocity model building and post-processing. Since 2016, after having acquired significant experiences in time and depth imaging processing, he decided to increase his knowledge in geology and salt interpretation. Recently, in addition to the Gulf of Mexico (US and Mexican side), he has also been working on several interpretation projects pertaining to Offshore Canada, Brazil and Morocco, where he could develop his knowledge in salt, carbonate, shale and faults interpretation. Mohamed decided to pursue his education by enrolling to the Professional Science Master’s Program in Subsurface Geoscience at Rice University in order to primarily enhance his knowledge in the realm of geology. His future career goals would be to advance his career path as a seismic interpreter and evolve further to be an exploration geologist in order to assess & plan prospective play evaluation by including petroleum geology and geophysics studies. In addition, he would like to supplement his career by gaining further knowledge in petroleum economics and management. He will be enrolled on a part-time basis.
