Mr. Lauchner received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2006. His research while at Texas Tech focused on detecting stellar streams from tidally disrupted globular clusters. He currently works for Boeing as a Systems Engineer for ISS Payload Engineering & Integration analyzing resources for the U.S. Science experiment complement aboard the International Space Station. During his studies at Rice, Adam focuses on the application of nanophysics to optical instrumentation, especially with respect to astronomical observations. He is attending the program on a part-time basis and graduated in 2012. He is now pursuing a PhD program at Rice University.
