Ms. Emily Cubbage graduated from the University of Virginia in 2016 with a B.S. in Physics. While at the University she concentrated in experimental physics and spent a year and a half participating in research under two different professors. During the summer of 2015 she received a Mitchell Fellowship through the UVA Physics Department to fund her research with Professor Robert Jones where she fabricated gold nanowires using the directed electrochemical nanowire assembly method. At UVA she had the opportunity to hold several leadership positions in organizations on grounds including serving as the president of the Society of Physics Students. Through the PSM program in Nanoscale Physics at Rice Ms. Cubbage hopes to build on her physics background and continue to develop her leadership and communication skills. After graduation, she secured a full-time postion with Ventures Fellow.
