Yue Yao

Ms. Yao graduated from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) with a bachelor degree in Petroleum Geology in 2015. She received the Chinese National Scholarship and was selected in the Li Siguang Program in college due to her outstanding performances both in academics and practical work. In 2014, she participated in the 8th International Petroleum Technology Conference, the multidisciplinary cooperation with excellent students from all across the globe, inspired her interest in pursuing employment with the Oil and Gas industry. After training in seismic interpretation of deep-water channel systems and research of unconventional carbonate fractures, she became interested in geophysical methods. Rice University’s Subsurface Geoscience Program gives her a chance to learn more in this area and to increase her practical technical skills. This program will offer Yue further exposure to the energy industry, and enrich her background to help in her pursuit to become an international geologist and geophysicist. After graduation, she returned to China.
