Baijing Sun graduated from China University of Geosciences in Beijing in 2018. During her studies there she participated in a variety of research projects, such as geochronological research of paleomagnetic structures, analysis of stratum observation, and study of tectonic movements. She acquired skills in various software programs making geological maps, such as Corel Draw, SAR, Arc Map and Matlab. She also interned with Daqing Oil Field Co and the University of Tsukuba, Japan. She joined the Rice program to increase her geology background and enhance her data science and data management skills. She successfully placed into an internship with SetID which increased her skill set using data science in big data.
