Ms. Desai received her bachelor of science degree in Biology from Texas A&M in 2006. Since graduation she has been working for Fluor Corporation’s Health, Safety and Environmental department as a HSE Specialist. This position has piqued her interest in environmental procedures and standards and has inspired her to pursue graduate studies at Rice. By concentrating on environmental management and policy, Shilpi hopes to be able to influence environmental regulations of private companies and work towards more corporate responsibility toward the environment. Shilpi accepted an offer to intern with GSI Environmental and secured full-time employment with ERM. In 2012, Shilpi accepted employment with Shell. In 2015, Shilpi transitioned to work as Environmental Engineer for Nexeo Solutions.
