Housing
Rice provides a choice of two university-owned apartment complexes, which are assigned to full-time graduate students on a space-available basis. A new complex is being built and will be available in 2009. In addition, residential neighborhoods within a walk, bike ride, or short commute from campus offer a wide variety of housing options. Houston has the second lowest cost of living among major U.S. cities and housing costs about 33 percent below the average for other major urban areas, so you're sure to find living quarters that meet your space and budget requirements. A new Rice Child Care facility will be available for graduate students with families at beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. Applications can be submitted at this time.
